Utah Mosin Nagant Challenge IV Winner is....

Congratulations, Jarom!

Another awesome challenge is in the books.  We have our fourth winner.  No one has been able to repeat yet.  It was very close scoring for the top four and the first time we had a tie in the top three.  I think everyone had a great time.  I love to see so many Mosins being shot at once.

Final Scores

Jarom - 148
Justin - 144
Aaron - 142
Andy - 142
Scott -123
Kim - 123
Rick - 122
Todd - 96
Greg - 92
Bryce - 67.5
Tom - 52
Carol - 35

The competition is getting tighter.  I think we have a good format that is a combination of competitive shooting and fun.  I had a lot of comments about what a great group of people this is to shoot with.  I completely agree.  I was hoping we would get some new participants this year because it is a fun laid back way to have fun shooting.  I wanted to point out that Carol has only shot the Mosin like 3 times before the shoot but I know I saw her smiling more than once.  Please spread the word to anyone you are trying to get into shooting.  If anything, its always fun to "carve" pumpkins together.

Here's where the video of the pumpkins go.  If anyone has a good version they can send me or send me a link it would be appreciated.

During this challenge we issued a side Nagant challenge.  We introduced the Nagant revolver.  Sure, some say that it was just an excuse to buy another gun.  Some say that Russians made clunky weapons.  Well maybe they are right.  But how cool is it to shoot a piece of history?  Very cool.  A very interesting design and concept for sure.  And thank goodness no one was hurt shooting a pistol that is  92 years old.  It looks like Tom has just a little experience on a revolver.  Great shot, Tom.

Thank you all that came and participated.  Again, congratulations to Jarom.  (Did you go buy a Nagant with that Cabela's gift card?)  And congrats to Justin, Aaron and Andy for finishing so close behind.  (Justin, did you wear the tie to church?)  Also, thank you to the range and our range officers for being there, keeping us safe, and letting us spread pumpkin guts all over the range and parking lot.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments for the next challenge.  Keep your eyes open for the next challenge date in the spring.
